  I feel trapped...I might return to the Borg....

  i have being thinking quite a while before posting.

  actually i haven't post for quite a long in the forum and i guess i'm one of the old ones, since i became member since 2001.. after leaving the borg for almost 16 years and disfellowshiped 10 years ago.

  If can hack the treadmill of reinstatement just to get your family back from the shunning madness then go for it. But do you know that they will not just shun you again when you fade later?

  Not sure if this is your health concerns talking here or if you just havent done enough research to know it is a cult and complete bollocks and not something to invest time in believing in.

  If you know it's a cult and just want your family back and can hack wasting a about 2 years of your life on reinstatement and fading out then why not.

  Personally nothing could make me set foot inside a kingdom hall ever again.

  What Convinced you to Leave?

  i've been posting here a lot, but these last few weeks have been very difficult for me.

  anyways, lately, i've been thinking about confessing everything i've done to the elders and going back, but deep down, i don't really think it's the truth...so my question is, what convinced you it wasn't the truth and that leaving wasn't a horrible decision that everyone in the truth makes it out to be?

  yesterday some jw's came over to my house and were even being nice to me, most of the time if they do come by an elder or ms may say something but the others will not, its even hard for them to say just hello (how pathetic).

  ( they also do this behind my back as if i don't know).

  i now realize by not being their i've handed my kids right over to them!.

  Why are you allowing your kids to "study" with anyone at all? To keep the peace? Fuck that, you are handing your kids over to be indoctrinated right under your nose. I think you have seen the light now, but you have got to man up and stop it asap yes even if feelings get hurt, that is only temporary.

  greetings to all, i am new to this site and am enjoying the topics.

  briefly, my family suffered my older/deceased brother's molestation when he was 13, in the congregation.

  to this day, my mother still defends the elders that dealt with this situation.

  I assume you are young and have to go with family? I missed a 3 day convention in my 20s (in a period when i hated being a witless and wanted out) by choosing to drive myself there instead of going on the bus or with friend or family.

  That's what i told my family, i never went. when quizzed over why they never saw me for 3 days I asked them where they were sitting and I just told them i was over the other side of the stadium (8 - 10,000 were there).

  Otherwise just fake an illness, or just say you are not going at all or that you will go 1 day only and choose the least offensive one to deal with.

  If you are under 18 and living at home then you probably will have to go and just make do with a book to read or something to do while there. Make up your mind though that soon you wont be doing this any more and life will get better.
